About the Deposit

When is a deposit given?  If you are interested in buying a puppy you will need to leave a deposit.  However, deposits are only excepted on litters that have been born.  If we don’t have a litter we can put you on a waiting list.  When the litter is born we begin emailing and calling a few people a night.  Then we give 24 to 48 hours for you to respond if you are interested in a puppy.  (If you aren’t interested you could speed up the process by simply stating that you are no longer interested).  If you are interested then you will let us know that you would like to send a deposit and for which litter and which sex (male / female).  We will then send you an email or call to verify that the puppy will be held for you.  Once you receive the verification then you may send the deposit.

What happens next?  We will notify you by email when we receive your deposit.   Then we will keep you posted on new pictures and progress with the puppies via email.  You will be asked to pick which puppy you want (If you haven’t already) between 5 and 6 weeks of age (your pick must be made absolutely no later than 7 weeks of age).  If you are not able to visit we could arrange a video session through Yahoo Messenger for you to view the puppies live.  The puppies are ready to leave their mom between 7 and 8 weeks.  We would schedule a time for you to pick them up during that time frame unless otherwise agreed.

Is the deposit refundable?  Yes and no.  If you come to see the puppy and are not happy with what you see for any reason then we will refund your deposit money.  If you do not show up to your appointment or if you cancel and do not reschedule in a timely manner, your deposit will not be refunded.  If you do not have the courtesy to follow through with your appointment for any reason you will not receive a refund.  Once you have seen the puppy, if you change your mind due to personal circumstances, the deposit will be non-refundable.

How much is the deposit?  The deposit is $100 per puppy.  If you give a deposit it will be deducted from the total price of the puppy.

Do I have to give a deposit before I see the puppy?  No.  However we will not hold the puppy unless you can make your appointment to see the puppy within 48 hours.  We will not hold a puppy for longer than 48 hours without a deposit.  Also keep in mind that the deposit will be refundable if you don’t want a puppy once you see them.  We feel this is more than fair.

What forms of payment are accepted?  You may send a check or money order.  If you send a check it must be a minimum of 10 days before you are picking the puppy up in order to give the check time to clear.  We also take Paypal but you would have to add $5 to cover the Paypal fee.  Our Paypal email is info@jimandcarolsplace.com  The final payment for your puppy must be made in cash.
